Based on the study of the phenotype, genotype, phylotype, ecological and some other properties of marine bacteria stored in the KMM, new species, genera and family of obligate marine bacteria were validly described. New species of fungi were also described.
A number of promising microbial producers of alpha-galactosidase enzymes that remove the specificity of human blood groups, alkaline phosphatases with a uniquely high specific activity, etc., and secondary bioactive metabolites (antibiotics, biosurfactants, antitumor substances, etc.) were discovered.
Scientific cooperation:
The description of some new taxa of marine bacteria was carried out in collaboration with Prof. E. Stackebrandt (German Collection of Microorganisms, DSMZ) and some other groups of scientists from the USA, Japan, France and South Korea.
